What should Hermia do?

Today we saw that Hermia wants to marry Lysander but her father is ordering her to marry Demetrius or face death. What do you think?

Well I think Hermia should tell his dad she would rather choose dying and see what her father's response is. If her father really kills her, then I think she is worth-dying because knowing the fact of having such a father, who would still want to stay alive?
Thus, hopefully, others will sympathize her and let her go.

I would rather die than having a father with such stubborn thoughts

Me as Hermia?......oh no!! I think I'll listen to my father! I don't want my head chopped off thankyou!
Change the law I would say!! The father is mental to give up her own daughter.

(Laughs) Charlotte's answer is hilarious.....but if I was Hermia, run away, elope with Lysander. I mean, come on, its stupid if Hermia's chooses Demetrius, that's giving away her entire happiness. And I don't think anyone if the right mind would choose death. So elopping is the best idea!!!! (It's also sounds romantic and sweet!!!! )

We will see in the play that Hermia will face other decisions and might be tricked. I don't want to give it away. But do you think love is fickle? Or that it might change for her?

Love is fickle,,,,,i don't really know whether it is fickle or not but for Hermia, i don't think so. Since she has the courage to tell her father that she loves Lysander, then I think that her love towards Lysander is strong and stable. If Lysander also can sit in front of Hermia's father, this means that his love towards Hermia is also strong.

I agree with the opinions that others have posted. If I was Hermia, I would tell my father that I would rather die. If my father didn't even understand what I really want, then I think it's pointless to stay with him. But maybe back then, fathers never loved their daughters even if it's a responsibility since women had low status. So, I would choose to elope with someone that makes me feel loved or end my life hoping that in my next life I would get a good love life.

If I were Hermia, I would choose neither. I would rather become a nun!
At one hand, I hate making decisions because it always takes time. On the other hand, by becoming a nun, I may realise that love is not that important to me through the days just praying, saying hymns (boring...). Afterall, love IS painful, right?

I would rather die then marry someone I don't even like! Being married is a very big thing and I think people should have a choice in whom they marry. I don't like the olden days when the girls didn't have a choice in marriage.

If I were Hermia,
of course I dont want to die......
although I face the fact that I am having such a father.
But,
I'd like to go away with my beloved 1 if I were her.
Coz I dont have to die, plus, i can stay with lysander
